This year the following activities will be conducted based on the preliminary research reports compiled last year on each of the target countries (China, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, and Vietnam).
  1. Meeting between individuals involved in implementation of project (May 2004)
Individuals responsible for implementation of the project will meet to (1) share preliminary research reports, (2) confirm case study methods, and (3) discuss outline of reports for each country.

  2. Case Studies (July to October 2004)
Case studies on "policy dialogue/proposals between government and NPOs" will be conducted in each country based on the results of the abovementioned meeting. The cases to be taken up have already been decided following the first year's activities.

  3. Meeting of Japanese Researchers (November 2004 and February 2005)
Japanese researchers involved in the project will meet to discuss the content and progress of the project.

  4. Compilation of draft reports for each country (November 1004 to March 2005)
A draft report including proposals regarding government-NPO policy dialogue will be compiled based on the results of last year's research and this year's case studies. The draft reports will also include analyses and proposals on specific characteristics of the non-profit sector in each target country, how that affects the NPO sector as a whole, and aspects that are necessary for developing the NPO sector in each country. The country reports will be completed after they are reviewed by project participants at the meetings scheduled for the upcoming year.
