Forum 2000: Bridging Global Gaps

An international conference will once again be held this year in Prague:

  1. General Meeting: "Forum 2000: Bridging Global Gaps"
    • Date/Venue:
      October 17 to 19 2004 (at the Municipal House in Prague)

    • Participants
      A total of 40 people comprising representatives of the IMF, World Bank, WTO, International NGOs, anti-globalization activists, politicians, and academics who will serve as mediators between the two sides.

    • Content
      The project will aim to formulate solutions to the various issues that were raised at the past two meetings by discussing them in the general meeting and smaller workshops. This year four workshops will be organized around the larger theme of "Global Civil Society". The proceedings of the meeting and workshops will be edited and made available in the form of publications and videos. The material will also be used to compile a book containing the discussions of all past meetings. Lecture and seminars will also be held on a smaller scale as side events to the main meeting.



  2. Religious Leader's Meeting
    • Date:
      December 1, 2004

    • Participants:
      The Dalai Lama and other religious leaders representing Buddhism, Christianity, Judaism, Islam, etc.
