Micronesian Seminar(Micronesia)
This year the project will edit existing data on historical, cultural, and social topics in Micronesia and make it available on the web.
- Creation of an on-line album
- Photos collected over the past two years will be catalogued and compiled into a database. Additional historical/cultural photographs will also be collected.
- Photographs will be compiled into an on-line album categorized into the following eight themes:
1)The Tranquil Fifties
2)The Way We Were
3)Congress of Micronesia
4)Covenant in the Marianas
5)Islanders at Play
6)World War II in Palau
7)World War II in Marshalls
8)Whaling Days
The album will also be put onto CDs and distributed to relevant organizations.
- Discussion Forum:
Theme: To be decided by participants
Participants: People from within and out of the region working in education, government, research etc.
Discussion topics: Regional cooperation, economic development, medical care and education.
- Expansion of website material
- Improve the quality of web searches by adding video and photographs to the library's search function.
- Making videos available on the web
