  1. Coconuts College of the Pacific: (Once a year from 2000 to 2004):

    Date: Three days in June 2004
    Venue: Okinawa/Yaeyama Islands (Hatoma Island, Kohama Island)
    Lecturer: Dr. Yoshihiko Shinoto of Bishop Museum
    Participants: High school students from Amami-ooshima, members of the Yaeyama Citizens
    College Committee and the general public.

    Content:
    Participants will conduct field studies of the cultures and traditions of Hatoma Island and Kohama Island with the help of its citizens. The high school students of Amami, Hatoma and Kohama islands will read out their essays on the topic "connecting islands(tentative)" at the lecture held in Kohama island.

    Report:
    A feature on the past six lectures will be published in the Yaeyama information magazine "Yaima".

  2. Coconuts College virtual classroom:

    Information on the Pacific region will be disseminated via the web. Website operations will include the updating of news in the Pacific region and the mailing list, editing information on new courses/seminars, attaching new links, dissemination of a wide range of information.
