Promotion of "Percentage" Philanthropy in Central and Eastern Europe
9,300,000 yen[Grant Project]
Nonprofit Information and Training Centre Foundation (Hungary)
The following activities are scheduled for FY2004.
- A short list of five or six candidate countries will be drawn up following discussions with various countries showing an interest in adopting Percentage Philanthropy.
(April to May 2004)
- Following careful examination of the current political situation and legal system in the candidate countries, the list will be further narrowed down to three countries where Percentage Philanthropy is most likely to be adopted/established as a result of participation in this project. This will be followed by formulation of activity plans for transferring Percentage Philanthropy to the three countries. (June to December 2004)
- The project will promote the sharing of information and experiences within the region by providing countries such as Poland where the concept of Percentage Philanthropy has not yet taken root, as well as countries such as the Czech Republic where there is a high possibility of Percentage Philanthropy being adopted, with information they need from countries such as Hungary, Slovakia, and Lithuania where Percentage Philanthropy is well-established. (Year-round)
- Provide information and advice to other nations interested in adopting Percentage Philanthropy. (Year-round)
- Continue operation of the website (www.onepercent.hu) in order to accumulate and share various information on Percentage Philanthropy.
(Second year of a 3-year project)
