Contemporary Japanese Studies at Central European Universities

Given the strong interest in Japanese economy and management, the project will continue to offer courses that promote further understanding of these areas. Moreover, if universities appear to possess the capacity to plan and operate the courses on their own and requests to do so, SPF will consider changing the project from a self-operated project to a grant project.
The implementation schedule for FY2004 is outlined below.
April to May
- Selection of universities for establishing courses on Modern Japanese Economy/Economics.
- Selection of visiting professors and country representatives. (Advertise the positions on the SPF website etc.)
June
- Decide on the syllabus
- Decide on the method of professor evaluation
- Decided on the terms of visiting professors
- Coordination with the various universities/countries
July
- Preparation toward the conclusion of an official agreement regarding the establishment of courses with the universities.
- Conclude official agreements, establish courses, and hold induction ceremonies.
August
- Donation of required textbooks to students taking the October to December course: Courses begin in Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic.
