Cultivating Specialists in International Security Issues/Phase II
7,800,000 yen[Self-Operate/Grant Project]
The Sasakawa Peace Foundation, Asian Forum Japan(Japan)
The grant project will invite Chinese practitioners working in the defense field to participate in a training program comprising language study and training in international issues and defense strategies. The self-operated project will provide training to outstanding participants of the abovementioned program following their return to China with the aim of helping them obtain a masters degree at Beijing University.
The details of the programs are as follows:
- Grant program:
Provision of a grant to the "Training Program for Defense-Exchange Staff" administered by Asia Forum Japan.
The grant will cover the training costs of two people selected by the China Institute for International Strategic Studies. In addition to the language training course that the program has been administering the last five years, this year the program will provide a more comprehensive training course that includes university lectures on international politics, and special lectures on Japanese politics and defense strategies.
- Self-operated project:
With the cooperation of China Institute for International Strategic Studies and Beijing University, SPF will cover the tuition and textbook costs of students who excelled in the abovementioned program so that they can obtain a masters degree in international relations from Beijing University.
