Capacity Building and Promoting Exchange of Central Eurasian Young Leaders

The following self-operated/commissioned activities will be carried out in Central Asia in 2004.
- Self-operated Project:
Tenth SPF Issyk-Kul Forum (Early November 2004)
- A forum inviting thirty experts from Central Eurasian countries (Central Asia, Caucasus, Turkey, Russia etc.) and Asian countries (Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, China, Singapore etc.) will be held in Beijing, China.
- The forum will enable participants to present research findings as well as network among themselves. The forum will discuss the effects that US isolationism, rise of China, revitalization of Russia, and other developments in the international area are having on Central Eurasia, as well as trends in domestic politics, multinational regional cooperation, security theories, and the region's integration into the international economy
- Presentations/discussions on SPF projects in Central Asia/Caucasus will be held with the aim of generating a synergy effect among related projects.
Capacity Building for Development in Central Asia and Caucasus
Japanese specialists and practitioners will be sent to the East West Institute to give lectures on economic cooperation, international politics, security, and policy research as a part of a training course.
