Preparation for Establishment of NPO-Related Graduate Courses

The project is in the 2nd year of a 3-year project period. The following activities will be conducted this year, taking into account the results and unaccomplished tasks from the first year of the project.

  1. Establishing practical NPO Graduate Courses
    1. A class focusing on NPO management and targeting students, professionals, and mid-level NPO staff aiming to become high-level NPO Staff will be made available on the web, and an interactive class environment will be established.
    2. 60 people will be invited to Karuizawa to conduct a screening and contemplate the issues raised by the aforementioned students.

  2. Developing a curriculum and teaching materials
    1. The curriculum design and individual subjects will be discussed.
    2. The material on "NPO management" created in 2002 will be put into book form, and other texts and videos will also be developed to be used as teaching materials.

  3. Collecting and providing information on NPO Research Studies
    1. Information from the Center for Nonprofit Research and Information established at the Osaka School of International Public Policy in 2002 will be disseminated via email to those who make a request.

  4. International Research Exchange
    1. The project will send one Japanese researcher to the NPO Conference to be held in the US in November, in order to gain the know-how of NPO education at the major universities.
    2. The project will invite foreign NPO researchers to the NPO conference to be held in Japan in March 2003.
      The fruits of the abovementioned activities will be announced at the NPO Associations annual meeting.
