5,500,000 yen[Grant Project]
Global Business Research Center (Japan)

The project is in its second year and will focus its research and analysis on the organizational theory of Linux.

  1. Workshop
The most effective method for analyzing the structural theory of Linux is to start by doing an independent analysis of three factors; the "free software movement", "characteristics of the Net-based community", and "features of on-line software", and in the end bring the research results together and consider them comprehensively. The following three workshops will be conducted periodically.
    • Linux Model workshop (Analysis of the free software movement)
    • Social Network workshop (Analysis of the characteristics of a net-based community)
    • On-line Software workshop (Analysis of the online development framework)
The workshops will aim to conduct practical analysis by including hearings and interviews, and well as questionnaires and statistical analysis.

  2. Papers/Reports
The results of the workshops will be made available in the form of scholarly publications and reports.
