In this third and final year, the project will utilize the website of the University of South Pacific School of Law created in 1998 to make additions/alterations to the first and second year course topics, as well as create new courses. Masters courses will be developed with the help of the University of Waikato in New Zealand. There are approximately 2000 students studying at the School of Law, including those studying through correspondence courses.
The various courses deal with topics such as land issues that are unique to the Pacific Island Nations, and the election system, and are aimed at fostering human resources capable of effectively dealing with legal issues in the region.
- Developing 4 new elective courses and two required courses for the School of Law (LA311/LA307/LA308/LA314)
- Making alterations to the five existing elective courses (LA306/LA317/LA310/LA322)
- Developing four new certification courses (LAC04/LAC05/LAC06/LAC07)
- Developing two new Masters courses (LA401/LA404)
- Developing a discussion panel for Internet classes and a system for the class discussion forum, as well as training the staff so that they can make effective use of this system
- Digitalizing reference materials by subject and setting up an Internet connection
