Enhancing NGOs Through Environmental Activities

This year's main activities and time schedule are as follows.

Early April:
Selection of regional coordinators for each of the 4 target countries of the Central Europe Fund, and the conclusion of an operating agreement.
May to June:
Call for applications for the "Sasakawa Central Europe Environment Prize" through local newspapers and NPO newsletters etc.
June to July:
Form a local selection committee (of 28 members), and conduct a screening of the applications (Twice).
Mid-September:
Hold the awards ceremony for the "Sasakawa Central Europe Environment Prize" (in the 4 target countries). Promote publicity of environmental activities through the interview of the prizewinner.
October to December:
Preparations for inviting one person from each of the winning organizations (a total of 4 people) to participate in a study tour of Japan.
End of October:
Remittance of the prize money to the winning organization
End of January:
Conduct a study tour of Japan for the four representatives from each of the winning organizations (10 days to 2 weeks.)
