Promotion of Small Enterprises: Sharing Experiences between Japan and Central Europe

12,000,000 yen[Self-Operated Project]
The Sasakawa Peace Foundation

In this second year of the project, the following activities will be carried out based on the results of the research conducted in the first year. Procedures have been delayed slightly in Poland due to the difficulty of finding an appropriate partner in the country, but we plan to continue the project in all four target countries.
  1. The formation of a project implementation committee for fostering small enterprises (April):
The committee will be made up of coordinators and people in charge of the surveys in each of the countries.

  2. Study tour in Japan (Mid-June):
Participants will visit small and medium-sized organizations, regional business start-up centers, the small and medium enterprise agency, local shopping streets, and regional industries over a period of about 10 days. Two people (person responsible for surveys and business owner) from each of the 4 target countries will be invited.

  3. Out of the twelve case studies (3 in each of the 4 target countries), 4 conventional cases will be selected. Then the research members and people directly related to the case studies will visit the sites, share their thoughts and ideas, and establish a cooperative relationship. The participants will also report on the results of their research activities in the various countries.

  4. Meeting and tours for people in the target regions of the case studies to share their experiences with each other. (Early October)

  5. Drafting a training manual/textbook (100 A4 sized sheets)

  6. Activities for disseminating practical knowledge: Organizing lectures, workshops and consulting activities using the abovementioned training manual. The lectures and workshops will be held in each of the countries (3 regions per country), and will be conducted through the organization of managers. (January to Mid-February)
