There are only a few Japanese interpreters in the field of international security issues within the administrative departments of the Chinese government. This project is aimed at fostering high-level interpreters with expertise in Japanese issues, who it is hoped will play an important role in China's Japan policy.
Course Details:
- Japanese Courses (Special Japanese Courses at Waseda University)
Curriculum: Japanese (Hearing, Reading, Speaking, Writing, Grammar, Japan Issues, Japan Studies)
- International Relations Courses
The trainees will take courses and receive private instruction at the Research Institute for Peace and Security at Waseda University.
After returning home to China, they will also take a Professional Master's course at the School of International Studies in Peking University.
- Tour of Japan
Trainees will go on regional study tours to places such as Osaka.
- After completing the training courses, they will submit a report of more than 8000 words on Japan-China security issues.
- Trainees will be presented with a Certificate of Completion
(Final year of a 5-year project)
