Business Case Development: Enhancement of Business School Education in Uzbekistan

Starting October 2003, Professor Osamu Nariai of Reitaku University will be assigned as project advisor, and the following activities will be conducted under his leadership.

  1. Workshop on methodology of creating business textbooks (October 2003):

    A total of six experts from Japan, South Korea, and Singapore will be sent to Tashkent, where they will organize a two-day workshop, aimed at teachers and students, on the methodology of creating business textbooks.

  2. "East Asia Business Management Seminar" by East Asian specialists (October 2003 and February 2004):

    Two seminars aimed at teachers, students and business managers in Tashkent will be held on the topic: Corporate management in Japan, South Korea and Singapore

  3. Selecting a company, conducting research, and compiling business textbooks (October 2003 to February 2004):

    After the abovementioned workshop and seminars are held, we will visit major manufacturers in Uzbekistan with the Uzbek teachers/students to select a company to product the textbooks. Following that, by around early February 2004, the Uzbek teachers/students will conduct case studies on quality management, production process, transfer of production techniques, and out the results down in writing.

  4. Instruction on textbook production by East Asian specialists (late February 2004):

    A total of six specialists from Japan, South Korea and Singapore will go to Tashkent to provide guidance and instruction for the abovementioned activities (3).
