Developing Marketing and Management Studies in Vietnam

|

5,900,000 yen[Grant Project]
Vietnam Marketing Association (Vietnam)
The plans for this second year of the project are as follows.
- Survey visits to companies for compiling a book of case studies.
(Continued from 2002, to be concluded by October 2003)
The Vietnam Marketing Association will continue conducting hearing surveys targeting 36 companies in Vietnam to obtain information on marketing related case studies. The results of completed surveys will be drawn up in Vietnamese, and then translated into English.
- Holding the annual meeting and workshop together (December 2003 (For Five days) in Hanoi and Ho Chi-Minh)
It is standard practice for institutions in advanced countries to hold their annual meeting at the same time as their workshops. In line with this practice, an annual meeting and workshop will be held together in Vietnam, as was the case in 2002. This year we aim to share the aforementioned research results "1" with a wider group of people, and will hold workshops once each in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh. During these events, the participants will also discuss new methods of editing academic journals and the future of international cooperative research.
- Publication of a Case Study Book
A 300 page case study book will be compiled based on the results obtained from the abovementioned survey "1", and 600 Vietnamese copies and 200 English copies will be published. This book will be used as a side reader in universities.
- Publication of the 'Vietnam Marketing Journal' (June, September, December 2003)
Two thousand copies of Vietnam's first academic journal, a 32-page collection of essays and information related to marketing will be published quarterly. Although there are plans to charge money for the journals in the future, for the time being they will be distributed for no cost, primarily to members of the institute.
