This year's activities are as follows:
- International Seminar in India (November 2003, February 2004): Two seminars will be held, one in Delhi and another in Pompei, discussing the main issues (religious, political, literary, logic of life, scientific technology etc.) surrounding Hinduism and Islam.
- Theme:"Dialogue between Hinduism and Islam"(Same theme for both seminars)
Speakers:
- From Japan:
- Dr. Yasuaki Nara; Professor Emeritus, Komazawa University.
- Dr. Tetsuo Yamaori ; Director-General, International Research Center for Japanese Studies.
- Dr. Nobuko Nagasaki ; Professor, Ryukoku University.
- Dr. Kenichi Matsumoto, Professor, Reitaku University.
- Dr. Daisaburo Hashizume; Professor, Tokyo Institute of Technology. Other researchers of Islam also expected.
Speakers from India will be selected with the help of the speakers invited in 2003 (especially Dr. Rakshimi L. Singhvy). We will also be inviting speakers from Southeast Asia and the Western countries.
- Participants: Approximately 150 people that yield influence in India such as researchers, media, and government officials are expected to attend.
- Seminar at the Iran Institute of Comparative Culture (September 2002):
Japanese researchers will be sent to Tehran, where the seminar, "Dialogue between Islamic jurists and Buddhists" will be organized to promote civilizational dialogue between the Islamic and Buddhist Civilizations. About fifty participants are expected, including Islamic jurists, researchers, and the media.
- Inviting Islam Researchers:
An Iranian religious scholar will be invited to Japan for three months to engage in exchange of opinions with Japanese specialists and give advice in preparation for the "Dialogue with Islamic Civilization".
- The proceedings of the aforementioned seminar "1." will be made available through on-demand publishing (English). The fruits of the seminar will also be published in Japanese.
