Genron NPO Conference on Asia Strategy
How Should Japan Face a Changing Asia?--- Aiming for Truly Open Nation Building Declaration of a New National Opening

(Please note: This seminar has already taken place)

Organized by Genron NPO with the support of the Sasakawa Peace Foundation.
Since its establishment in October 2001, Genron NPO has been conducting a variety of debates on the political issues facing Japan and the country's future by linking various forms of media such as the Internet, premium quality magazines, forums and symposiums. As part of these 'genron' (literally speech and writing) activities, Genron NPO initiated the 'Conference of Asia Strategy' in August 2002. The Conference comprises of prominent members from a wide range of fields, and Shinji Fukukawa (Executive Advisor, Dentsu Inc.) is acting as the Chairman. The Conference has been engaging in various discussions and has been making the contents of these discussions available to the general public. The seminar was organized in order to give a mid-term report on the series of on-going discussions being conducted among the members.
